CIAR Staff Attend IT Security Training

In August 2004, Yibran Montalvo and Moisés Cirilo attended a week-long training on basic IT security and Active Directory implementation from Executrain.

In August 2004, Yibran Montalvo and Moisés Cirilo attended a week-long training on basic IT security and Active Directory implementation from Executrain. The training covered basic security threats and was given by a Microsoft-certified security trainer. The security workshop included presentations of the newer Microsoft technogies embedded in Windows XP Professional and 2003 Server, such as Service Pack 2 features, Microsoft firewall, wireless security, and web services configuration.

The Active Directory workshop was a step by step hands-on tutorial on implementing the Microsoft Directory Services. The training ranged from installing the server to the implementations of forests and organizational units creation and maintenance.
